The Kalimela police on Friday arrested two hardcore Maoists for their alleged involvement in the murder of Ganga Madkami on June 20 night in the district. The Red rebels had murdered Ganga, a resident of Sudhakanta village, under Telerai panchayat in the district, suspecting him to be a police informer. The arrested Maoists are members of the Kalimela Area Committee of the outlawed CPI (Maoist), police said. A group of 15-20 armed Maoists had barged into Madkami’s house and dragged him out.
They took him near a cremation ground in the area and gunned him down.
The ultras had also left a letter near the body threatening villagers with dire consequences if they work for the police.
