Two children of a family died on Tuesday in a remote village of the district when they drowned in a well.
The deceased were identified as Bidushmita Swain (8) and Dibakar Swain (6) of Ghusuramal village in Naktideul block. They were daughter and son of Bibhuti Bhusan Swain respectively.
As per information, the kids went with their mother to take bath in the Tampali river close to their village. Due to scorching heat, the mother told them to go home after they had their bath. But on their way back home, they saw a newly-dug well in the roadside and dived into it for fun of another round of bath. However, they could not come out of it, resulting in their watery grave.
Some kendu leaf pluckers coming in the road saw the two bodies floating inside the well. They fished out them from the water.
