In a heartrending incident, a minor girl and a minor boy drowned in a pond at Malati village under Athagarh subdivision’s Badamba block in Cuttack district on Monday morning.
According to reports, Asutosh (8), son of Ajaya Palei, and Priyadarsini (9), daughter of Bijaya Palei, slipped into deep water while
taking bath. Villagers spotted their bodies floating in the pond after half an hour of the incident.
They soon rushed the kids to the Badamba hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.
A pal of gloom descended on the village following the tragedy.
