Two Maoists cadres surrendered before the Rourkela police on Monday evening. They were identified as Ram Say Samad (25) and Anu Champia(22), both residents of Bhangaon in Jharkhand.

Bonei sub division Additional SP RB Panigrahi, while addressing a Press meet on Monday evening, informed about the surrender of the ultras. The duo told the police that during their days in Maoist organisation from 2011 to 2012 in Saranda sub division of Odisha-Jharkhand border, they were meted out with ill-treatment and torture.

Fed up and frustrated over the activities of the outfit, they left it after 2012, they said, and disclosed that that they had participated in langalkati firing in 2012. “The two youths have detached themselves from the Maoist organisation since 2012 and finally surrendered here. They will be rehabilitated according to norms,” said Panigrahi.
