The Hatibari Police on Friday arrested and court-forwarded two members of an antisocial outfit, the Jharkhand Badshah, on charge of demanding ransom from two businessmen of the city. They were identified as Agetar Minz(32) of the lase area and Sukdev Pradhan(40) of the Kalosiria area. Speaking to mediapersons, Biramitrapur SDPO A Rana said the duo had on April 24 demanded an extortion of Rs10 lakh from two brothers who run a brick kiln unit at Kadarkela village under the Hatibari PS.

Though the duo brothers gave them Rs25,000, yet were asked to pay the rest amount. Frightened, they lodged a complaint with the Hatibari PS on May 2. They were nabbed by Nuagaon outpost Officer Taranisen Bag and his team while they were moving in a suspicious manner along with their other aides at Jahaditoli on Friday. However, three others managed to flee from the spot. Police have also recovered a country-made pistol, two motorbikes, three cell phones and a live bullet from them. Manhunt is still on to nab other members of the outfit, said Rana. Presence of Jharkhand Badshaha members has created panic in the area.
