The Soro police on Wednesday arrested two persons, including a retired Amin, in connection with a land scam. The accused were identified as Nisakar Patra of village Raipur and former Amin Chittaranjan Panigrahi. About 10 others who had grabbed the land of Lord Jagannath in the connivance with these two were trying to take possession of the land on forged documents.
Knowing this through mutation process Tehsildar Ashok Das had referred land details to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) for verification and being informed by the SJTA about the manipulations to grab the lands from the occupants, he had asked the local police to take action against the fraudsters .
The forgery attempt was made in different mouzas including Raipur, Kamanpur, Sirapur and Bramhapur under Soro tehsil.
