Acting on a complaint of a man, the Raibania police of Jaleswar on Thursday arrested the former’s wife and her paramour on the charge of having illicit and extramarital relation. later, police sent the arrested duo for medical examinations.
The incident occurred at Raibania village under Jaleswar block and the accused in police custody are Suryakanta Sahu (31) and Sasikala Panda (30). Sahu is a native of Muktapur under Betnoti block, while is a junior engineer of Nesco in Hathigarh, Panda is a Shiksa Sahayak in Khalabad upper primary school.
Complainant Byamokesh Panda, husband of Sasikala, was suspecting the latter’s illicit relationship with Sahu for a long time. On Wednesday night he caught them red-handed when they were in compromising position at his house.
Panda, in order to expose their relationship, had informed his wife that he was going to Baripada on a driving duty on Wednesday night.
Finding this as an opportunity, Sasikala told Sahu to come to her house. However, Panda came back home at about 11 pm and found the duo in an objectionable position.
Panda couple’s 10-year- old daughter and six- year- old son were in another room.
While the police on receiving the information reached the spot at about 11.30 pm, yet the furious villagers didn’t leave the accused duo. In the village, while one group demanded action against the duo, another sought a compromise.
“A case has been registered against the duo under various Sections of the IPC. The duo had also beaten on the spot,” said Raibania Police Station IIC Gopal Singh.
