Two persons were arrested in connection with the Rajkanika BDO assault case on Tuesday, said Kendrapada SP Rabi Narayan Behera here.
They were identified as Pravakar Sahu of Telipatana and Sangram Samal of Mulasahi and produced in a local court under various Sections of the IPC, but the court remanded them in jail custody after turning down their bail pleas.The victim BDO on Monday had lodged an FIR alleging that five youths had attacked him at his office demanding contracts to execute various works.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the employees of both Aul and Rajkanika blocks resorted to a pen down strike, demanding arrest of the culprits.Similarly, the district OAS Association also condemned the attack and demanded arrest of the accused.Demanding fulfillment of a four-point charter of demands within 48 hours, the association threatened to go on a mass leave in the event of lapses.
SP Behera said a haunt was on and others involved in the case would be soon nabbed.
