An Additional Sessions Judge court of Baleswar on Saturday awarded 10 years of imprisonment to two persons while convicting them in a dowry death case.
The two convicted are victim Mamuni Manna’s husband Sambhunath Giri (24) and mother-in-law Angurbala Giri (45) belonging to Khantapara. The court held that Mamuni died on July 12, 2011after being tortured by the two convicts.
The court has also imposed fine of Rs 10,000 on each of them. They would undergo another two-month jail term if fail to pay the fine, the court said.
