Two person died while another one suffered critical injuries when the motorbike by which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck on the road near Ulada under the Kamarda police station in Baleswar district on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Biswa Bikash Parida of Vrindavanpur village and Akash Bhakta of Baharda village in the district.
Sunil Behera, who was critically injured in the mishap, was first admitted to the Baliapal Community Health Centre. However, he was later shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack as his health condition deteriorated.
The trio was going to a picnic spot at Talseri when their motorbike dashed against the truck. The accident was suspected to have occurred due to poor visibility in view of dense fog. The Kamada police began an investigation into the incident after registering a case. The bodies were sent to a hospital for postmortem.
