Two persons were killed while another was injured in two separate road accidents in Angul district on Wednesday morning.
In the first incident, one Basant Barik died when the scooter he was riding on was hit by a bus from the near the Nalco police station. The deceased was a resident of Kandasar village.In a separate incident, a person died while another was injured when their motorcycle fell off a bridge at Raibahal under the Kishorenagar police station in the district.
In another incident in Subarnapur district on the day, a person died while another suffered critical injuries when car they were travelling in collided with a stationary JCB machine near Arjunpur on the Subarnapur- Balangir road in the morning. The deceased was identified as Subhrashu Joshi of Tileswar village in Boudh district and the injured is his driver Bikash. As per reports, Joshi was travelling to Balangir district from Boudh when driver Bikash lost control over the car, following which the vehicle hit the JCB machine parked on roadside. Joshi died on the spot inmishap.
On receiving information, Fire Brigade staffs rushed to the spot, rescued injured Bikash and shifted him to a hospital in Soneput. Besides, Joshi’s body was sent for postmortem.
