DGP Prakash Mishra on Tuesday suspended two constables of the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) in connection with the assault on journalists near the Chief Minister’s residence, Naveen Nivas on Monday.
Mishra also said that jackets would be provided to the working reporters for their safety during a law and order situation. "Henceforth, jackets mentioning media will be provided to Presspersons so that they would be identified easily during any law and order situation," he said.
The security personnel beat up some reporters near the Naveen Nivas while they were covering a demonstration staged by the Student Congress.
