Two children drowned in water bodies in separate locations of Jagatsinghpur on Friday.
Sources said Santanu Behera of Ghosaghar hamlet under Goda panchayat in Ersama block had his watery grave while bathing in a village pond. His body was fished out from water and sent to the Ersama hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
In the other tragedy, in Udayabata, a baby, Meghanad Mandal, slipped from a mini bridge across rivulet Bata while playing on Friday. After few hours of search operation by fire personnel from Paradip, the infant’s body was recovered from the water.
