While 127 of 269 sanctioned doctor posts are lying vacant in various hospitals in Ganjam district, appointment of two Chief District Medical Officers (CDMOs) for the district on a single day has not only mocked of the authorities’ irresponsibility but also made State exchequer exert unnecessary spending.
According to information, due to mismanagement, the Government appointed two CDMOs for Ganam on March 31. They are Joint Director Dr Saroj Kumar Nayak and Additional Director Dr Manoj Kumar Behera.
While Dr Behera is discharging his duty as the CMDO now, Dr Nayak is sitting idle as he has not been given any job even after passing of two months.
Such dual CDMO postings have also been made in Nabarangpur and Bhadrak districts, sources said.
