The Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Ganajm on Thursday issued a show-cause notice to two doctors of the City Hospital, Dr Sankarsena Patro and Dr Dillip Kumar Mishra, for not prescribing Niramaya medicines and sending patients to private clinics run by them in the city.
The two doctors were asked to reply to the notice within three days’ time as to why action would not be taken against them.
During its Ghanta Yatra on January 7, the Manav Adhikar Surakshya Manch had alleged that some doctors were not writing medicines available at Niramaya Centres and had also submitted some evidence before the CDMO. After a preliminary inquiry, the CDMO has served the show-cause notice on the two doctors.
