Two minor boys of a family drowned in a morrum quarry at Chirma village under Kashaguda block of Nabarangpur district on Sunday. Another boy was rescued and hospitalised.
The deceased wered identified as Nitesh Bisoyi (6) and Tushar Bisoyi (14). Eight-year-old Shiva Bosoyi was rescued in a critical condition and admitted to hospital. The victims are cousins.
The tragedy took place when the trio was bathing in the water collected at the murram quarry. The three slipped into deep water and drowned. They were rescued by villagers and rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared Nitesh and Tushar brought dead.
