The Angul district police on Sunday arrested two BJP workers for allegedly setting Talcher BJD MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan’s car on fire on December 7.
The accused were identified as Swadhin Thamb and Jiten Mohanty. While Swadhin is president of the Yuva Samajsevi Sangathan, Jiten is its secretary.
It may be recalled that an SUV of the MLA and an ambulance, which had been parked in the premises of the MLA’s camp office at Nandira village in Angul district, were torched on the night of December 7 while Pradhan was in the office room. Staffs of the office later doused the flames, but the vehicles had already been badly damaged. Notably, earlier on August 19, several vehicles had also been set on fire at MLA Pradhan’s official residence in Bhubaneswar.
