The Patna Police with the help of the Commissionerate Police on Tuesday arrested two hardcore Bihar criminals from Old Station Bazaar under the laxmisagar police limits in the city.

The arrested persons were identified as Abhay Saha and Manjeet Saha of the Samastipur area in Bihar. The two against whom Non Bailable Warrants (NBWs) had been issued earlier by a court in Bihar were involved in 41criminal cases.

Police sources said 36 cases, including six murder cases, were pending against Abhay and nine cases, including three murder cases, pending against Manjeet in different police stations of Bihar. Besides murder, the accused were also involved in dacoity, bombing, kidnapping, burglary and loot cases.

To evade police arrest, the two accused had fled Bihar and came to Bhubaneswar. They had undergone a complete makeover, donning the garb of sadhus in an Ashram located at Balakati under the Balianta police station here to stay unidentified.

Sources said the criminals were served as drivers of Ashram-run autos at Station Bazaar here to carry commuters between the Ashram and the railway Station.

A three-member team of Bihar police, who had camped in Hotel Payal at Old Station Bazaar, arrested the accused while they were on their work. The duo was taken to Bihar on transit remand after producing them in a local court.
