Police on Saturday arrested two auto-rickshaw drivers on the charges of abducting and gangraping a 20-year-old girl for two days at the Durgapur Hill near Rourkela two weeks ago.
The arrested were identified as Rahul Prasad (21) of Gopabandhupalli and Manis Prasad (22) of Gurdwara Road. Police seized two auto-rickshaws from their procession used to kidnap the girl.
They said that while the girl was returning from her workplace to home at Hill Top Basti on July 28 evening, two unknown youths allegedly abducted her from Ring Road and took her to Durgapur Hill and gangraped her for two days.
But the girl managed to give a slip to the accused and filed a complaint in the Plant Site PS on July 30. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the accused, said Plant Site PS IIC UK Pradhan.
