On the first day of the rechecking and re-addition of marks in the allegedly wrongly evaluated Plus II answer sheets, as many as 316 answer sheets were rechecked while slight changes were made in 17 cases only, sources in the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) said.
Sources said only five to seven marks were added in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, English and Sanskrit.
“The mistake is very nominal. In most cases the allotted marks are found to be correct but in some cases it differs from five to eight marks only,” said Prof Trushar Mishra, an expert in English engaged in rechecking and re-addition process.
A total of 300 teachers, considered subject experts and divided into 15 groups, are involved in the exercise while a special officer has been attached to each group to handle decoding, rechecking, re-addition and preparing photocopies of answer sheets, sources added.
CHSE chairman Basudev Chatoi said, “Subject experts during scrutiny will examine if there has been any discrepancy in addition of papers or any part was left out during evaluation.”Meanwhile, the Higher Education department extended the last date for submitting applications for admissions into Plus Two streams. While the last date for receiving applications online has been extended up to June 21, for offline the last date has been fixed for June 23, sources added.
Earlier the last date for online admission was June 9 while for offline admissions it was June 10.
