The Civil Supplies Department has recovered `18,04,437 as fine from 2,203 ineligible beneficiaries of 439 families in Kendrapada district under the NFSA for lifting subsidised food grains after obtaining ration card illegally by submitting erroneous information.
Besides, six persons, who were ineligible to obtain ration cards under the NFSA, were arrested while as many as 274 FIRs have been lodged in different police stations in the district for obtaining Government-sponsored subsidised food grains through their ration cards, informed Kendrapada CSO Ramnath Sahu.
