Bhubaneswar on Monday registered 181 new Covid-19 positive cases, the lowest caseload in several weeks. With this, the total tally in the city rose to 96,065. Out of the new cases, 116 were local contacts and 65 quarantine cases. The local contacts included nine in Khandagiri and seven in Nayapalli. The active cases stood at 1,403 in the city. Meanwhile, 16 more patients succumbed to the disease in the city, mounting the total death toll to 653. However, 158 persons recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries to 93,988. Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared some portions of the Brundaban Plaza at Unit-6 as a containment zone to prevent spread of Covid as several positive cases were detected in the building. Flat Nos. 506, 509, 510 and the fifth floor of the apartment Plaza were declared as containment zone to restrict public from entering into and going out of the zone.
