A 17-year-old girl of Sundargarh district showed her bravery and rescued a two-year-old boy from a 50-feet deep well on Thursday afternoon.
John Dang and his wife Anita reside with their family at Nuagaon panchayat Upper Basti in Nuagaon block of Sundargarh district.
Shanti Bud (17) of lathikata, along with her brother and sister-in-law (brother’s wife) also reside near Dang’s house.
Bud along with her sister-in-law Prafuluia Bud had come to a well nearby the house of Dang to take water from that well. While taking water from the well, she saw Dang’s son Aring and another three-year-old girl of locality Edlin were playing nearby the well.
While Bud again returned near the well to take water, she did not see Aring there. She immediately asked Edlin about Aring. Edlin told that Aring while playing had fallen inside the well. Bud without hesitating, immediately jumped inside the 50 feet and rescued Aring floating inside water.
According to sources, Bud will be felicitated at Nuagaon on March 16.
