As many as 158 migrant labourers of Nuapada district have been detained in a brick kiln of Suriapeta in Karimnagar district of Telangana. A majority of these labourers are women and children. One of the labourers, Nakul Hans who escaped from the site, has reported this to the district Collector.
"My wife, two kids, brother and mother are also detained there," said Nakul, who belongs to Dhumabhata village of Komna block. He reported that the labourers are being tortured by the employer. The Collector has directed the District labour Officer to take immediate action.f
