The Covid-19 death toll breached the 1,000-mark in the State following 15 more patients succumbing to the disease on Saturday. With this, the total death toll reached 1,006.
Khordha district reported five deaths followed by Cuttack with two and one each in Baleswar, Balangir, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh districts.
The deceased in Khordha were a 62-year-old man, a 66-year-old man and a 78-year-old man (all of Bhubaneswar), a 51-year-old man and a 62-year-old man. The fatalities in Cuttack were a 35-year-old man and a 70-year-old man.
The other deceased were a 44-year-old man of Baleswar, a 36-year-old man of Balangir, a 61-year-old man of Ganjam, a 50-year-old woman of Jagatsinghpur, a 40-year-old man of Jajpur, a 60-year-old man of Kendrapada, a 37-year-old man of Mayurbhanj and a 69-year-old man of Sundargarh. Meanwhile, there was a slight decline in the positive cases on the day with 2,854 being recorded from all 30 districts and the State pool. With this, the State’s positives’ tally rose to 2,49,693.
