The Puri district administration has adopted a three-pronged strategy to ensure Covid-19-appropriate behaviour in view of the new guidelines for August. The strategies are awareness, persuasion and stern legal action. Police have identified 15 Covid hotspots in the district, most of them being in Puri town like beach areas, bus-stand, malls, etc. The places where more crowds are expected would be the main focus of enforcement of the strategy. District Superintendent of Police Vishal Singh said intensive focus would be put on the hotspots where violation of Covid-appropriate behaviour is more.He said extensive public awareness through loudspeakers would be ensured in these areas. Intensive persuasion would be made to mall owners and other stakeholders to ensure Covid-appropriate behaviour in their locations.
