Thriveni Earthmovers organised a free medical camp in Bagamunda village of Keonjhar district on Saturday, where a total of 1,440 patients, including 40 pregnant women, underwent check-ups and got medical advices.
“We are implementing a CSR plan to provide broad-based help and medical assistance to all villagers, especially pregnant women and infants, in remote areas where they face problems due to lack of facilities,” said Triveni CSR division GM Vikram Mehta.
The camp was important because the area is far away from Primary Health Centres. Good health of pregnant women being crucial for a family’s wellbeing, the free medical camps act as a great support for them, he added.
Besides the regular check-ups, maternity-related issues and infant healthcare, a majority of patients were treated for viral fever and malaria. Furthermore, the team of doctors advised villagers on how to maintain proper hygiene at all times, which helps curb morbidity and mortality rates.
