Like the Jagannath Temple, devotees have also been restricted to visit the Alarnath Temple at Brahmagiri as the administration has imposed prohibitory orders under the Section 144 CrPC since Friday night due to Covid-19.
Usually, devotees visit the Alarnath Temple to have blessings of Lord Alarnath during the 14-day Anasara rituals of Lord Jagannath after Snan Purnima.
Devotees have a strong belief that they would get the same spiritual benefit having darshan of Lord Anarnath as praying to Lord Jagannath during the latter’s Anasar period.
The administration has sealed the temple as well as the connecting roads. CCTV cameras have been installed to keep vigil on activities of servitors. Two platoons of police led by 10 officers have been deployed around the temple.
