A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Bagahadia under the Marshaghai police station on Monday, informed PS IIC Sukanta Kumar Patra on Wednesday.
The girl of Teragaon village had gone to her uncle’s house at Baghadia on the eve of Prathamastami. On Monday after noon, she went to attend the call of nature when Srikanta Behera, a distance relative of her, allegedly took her nude photos from a distance and threatened her holding a sharp weapon not to disclose the matter to anybody. later, Srikanta allegedly molested her and tore her dress and raped her.
He fled from the spot when the girl shouted for help. On Tuesday, the girl’s uncle lodged an FIR with the police. The police have registered a case against Srikanta, who has not been arrested so far as he has fled from the village. The police on Wednesday sent the girl to the District Headquarters Hospital here for medical examination.
