As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the Utkal Alumina International limited (UAIl) launched a computer literacy project at Nuapada in the Kashipur block of Rayagada district.
Its CSR wing – Utkal Alumina Jana Seva Trust (UAJST), collaborated with the State-run Odisha Knowledge Corporation limited (OKCl) to function as their authorised learning centre (AlC). It offers the Odisha State Certificate on Information Technology (OS-CIT) course at a subsidised fee. Till date, 139 students in eight batches have undertaken the course at the centre.
Recently, the OKCl awarded Utkal Alumina Jana Seva Trust the first position in maintaining consistent performance at the district level The centre was recognised for the “Highest OS-CIT admission in the district”.
