As many as 1,38,355 various Government posts are lying vacant by March 31, 2016 in the State, informed Finance Minister Pradip Kumar Amat in the State Assembly in response to a question of Congress member Naba Kishore Das on Monday.
The Minister furnished this information basing of Annual Establishment Review conducted for the year 2015-16.
He, however, stated that many posts have filled up by this time and contractual postings are being done against vacant posts for essential and emergency services.
The Minister too informed that the State would have extra annual burden of `3,500 crore when all these posts would be filled up.
