The Utkal Alumina in association with the Shankar Foundation Eye Hospital, Visakhapatnam, organised a free eye screening, medication and spectacle distribution camp at its CSR Complex in Nuapada on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Utkal Alumina President Vijay Sapra and Rayagada CDMO Ananda Padhy inaugurated the camp. Under the guidance of Dr Ramu Sidhartha, as many as 1,248 patients from both mines and refinery peripheral villages got their eyes screened and were distributed with free medicines.
Similarly, 423 patients were provided with spectacles free of cost. Besides, patients identified for cataract surgery will be transported to the Base Hospital of Shankar Foundation at Visakhapatnam.
