As many as 103 employees of the Emami Paper Mills Limited here have tested positive for Covid-19, informed Baleswar Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) on Monday.
On the day, 158 fresh Covid cases were reported from Baleswar district, of which 101 were from Emami Paper Mills. Earlier, two cases had been detected from paper mill. With sharp rise in Covid cases in paper mill, district administration closed one of its three units to prevent spread of infections at plant.
As part of Covid-19 guidelines, one colony of paper mill has been declared as a micro containment zone following detection of positive cases on a large scale.
