A special team of Ganjam District Excise under Inspector Dhaneswar Barada seized a huge quantity of ganja (marijuana) and an Indigo car near Ujaleswari Temple on NH 16 of Chhatrapur area.
The vehicle (OD05M3116) was going from Kandhamala to Bhubaneswar, when an Excise special patrolling task force spotted it. One Kana Judas of Kandhamala with 100 kg marijuana was arrested for this.
The Excise Department informed that the total amount of the seized marijuana is above Rs 14 lakh. Excise SI Dhananjaya Patra, ASI Rabindra Biswala, Kumuda Chandra Nayak and other staff participated in the raid which was undertaken by the order of district Collector Dibyajyothi Parida and under the direct supervision of Ganjam District Excise Superitendent Devi Prasad Das.
