Excise Department staffs on Monday seized nearly 10 quintals of ganja from a duplex house in the Kholathia area under the Khandagiri police station and arrested a person in connection with the incident.
The arrestee identified as Subala Samantray of Baleswar district, is said to be an inter-State ganja smuggler. During the raid, the officials seized nearly 10 quintals of ganja worth Rs 50 lakh.
Acting on reliable, the Excise sleuths conducted a raid in the area and seized the huge cache of contraband that was stored to be smuggled to the neighbouring States. The consignment was reportedly transported to the city from Mohana in Gajapati district. After being arrested Subala is being interrogated to unearth more information about the racket.
