Ten minor women migrant labourers (all minors) of Chandahandi village in Nabarangpur district stranded in Kerala due to the Covid-19 lockdown have urged the State Government to bring them back home at the earliest.
According to information, these labourers were working in a weaving factory in Koraput when they were taken to factory in Kerala by a middleman with promise of a high amount of salary.
While the factory has remained closed due to the lockdown since March, they have not been paid salary for several months. They revealed their plights in a video sent to their relatives at Chandahand.
Though they have registered their names with the Odisha Government portal for long, yet they have not been able arrange any vehicle to return home due to lack of founds. They have urged the Government to help them to come home.
