In a surprise development into the Monday Kaudia incident at the lokanath temple here, police on Tuesday arrested ten Bom Bol (Kaudia) devotees, including the devotee injured in a servitor’s attack and his father, and booked them on attempt-to-murder charges. On the other hand, the police failed to nab the servitor, whose illegal demand of money from devotees and attack had triggered this unfortunate incident.
The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate here refused the bail pleas of the arrested Kaudia devotees and sent them to jail custody.This issue has become a topic of hot discussion in various circles who condemn the police high handedness besides the utter failure to maintain law and order during the Monday ritual of the Shree lokanath.
