The Ganesh Utsav is being celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm in Jharsuguda district for ten long days. More than 50 decorated Puja pandals of Jharsuguda town have been decked up to welcome lord Ganesh.
The Jharsuguda Friends’ Club Puja Committee has chosen Rajasthan as its theme and is celebrating the vibrant puppetry culture of that State. “We have installed a 12.5-feet-high POP-made idol of lord Ganesh, which is attracting devotees from all parts of the district,” said committee president Ajay Poddar.
large crowds are also drawn to the Ganesh Utsav gates at Thana Chowk at Jharsuguda which are prepared in the shape of the lalbagh Raj Palace.
Along with normal rituals, various competitions are also being organised for different age groups in the district. Traffic restrictions are in place to avoid inconvenience for the devotees by blocking the town for smooth darshan of the lord.
