Excise Department personnel on Sunday seized around 10.6 quintals of ganja in two separate incidents and arrested four persons in this connection.
In the first incident, the excise sleuths intercepted a car on suspicion and seized 60 kg ganja stashed inside the vehicle near the town. The cops also arrested three persons involved in the transportation of the contraband.
Later, the excise personnel again received inputs about the smuggling of a huge cache of ganja in a truck. Based on the input, the cops intercepted the truck near Padmagiri Chhak and found ganja weighing around 10 quintals loaded in the vehicle.
Though the Excise personnel managed to apprehend the truck driver, the helper managed to flee the spot. Excise officials said the Padmagiri area has turned int0 hub of the ganja trade. They have launched a manhunt to nab the kingpins involved in the illegal trade.
