The State Government on Monday declared 10,456.64 hectares of farmland in the State as pest-affected and directed the concerned district authorities to undertake relief measures.
As per field verification reports submitted by the district Collectors, an area of 10,456.64 hectares of land in 1567 villages under 319 gram panchayats of 15 blocks and 15 wards of four ULBs in two districts have sustained crop loss of 33 per cent and above due to pest attack.
The Government has authorised the Collectors of the concerned districts to undertake relief measures in the notified areas.
