One lakh devotees would be entertained on Mahaprasad feast on the June 27 for the transfer of Brahma to the new deities. The Brahma would be transferred in a secret ceremony in the dead of the night of June 15. As per Hindu traditional practice, the Hindus observe rituals upon the death of a family member or relative. On the 13th day of the demise, they treat scores of people with Mahaprasad and sweetmeats. Similar rituals would be performed in the temple.

The Daitapatis who claim them to be the family members of lord Jagannath and his siblings observe the rituals for the outgoing bodies of the deities which are buried in the Koilibaikuntha in the temple complex and the new ones replace them. On the Treyodashi (June 27) after performing oblations for the passed away bodies, the Daitapati Nijog and the temple administration would jointly  organize the grand feast of Mahaprasad for one lakh devotees.

For that a meeting of the temple administration and the Daitapati Nijog was held on Thursday. It was resolved that devotees would be lined up in six barricades raised along the Badadanda on the day. The temple and Daitapati Nijog appealed mutts and other religious institutions for smooth conduct of the grand feast along the grand road. The temple administration also flashed a bank account number for the intending donors for the feast, that is, Indian Bank IFC code No. IDIB000P057 A/C No. 491711730 of the Shree Jagannath Temple account.
