Bhubaneswar on Friday registered 1,186 new Covid-19 positive cases, with which the State capital city’s total tally surged to 66,880. Out of the news cases, 1,044 were local contacts and 142 were quarantine cases.
The local contacts included 39 from Khandagiri, 34 from Chandrasekharpur, 30 from Sundarpada, 27 from Baramunda, 20 each from Badagada and Laxmisagar, 18 from CRPF Campus, 17 from Mancheswar, 16 each from Bhimatangi, Bhimpur and BJB Nagar, 13 from Jayadev Vihar and 10 from Kanan Vihar.
Currently, active cases in city stood at 12,672. On day, 1,041 patients recovered, increasing total recoveries to 53,880. So far, 307 persons have died to disease in city.
