Bhubaneswar on Wednesday registered 1,074 new Covid-19 positive cases, with which the State capital city’s total positives’ tally rose to 49, 330.
Out of the new cases, a whopping 946 were local contacts and 128 were quarantine cases.The local contacts included 52 cases from Nayapalli, 50 from Old Town, 39 from Chandrasekharpur, 33 from Dum Duma, 32 from Baramunda, 30 from Khandagiri, 25 from Jayadev Vihar, 23 each from Bomikhal and Jharpada, 18 each from Kharavel Nagar and Acharya Vihar, 16 from CRPF Square and 10 from Palaspalli.
Currently, the active cases in the city stood at 9,414. However, 599 patients recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries to 39,615. So far, 275 persons have succumbed to the disease in the city.
