State capital city Bhubaneswar on Tuesday registered 1,062 new Covid-19 positive cases, with which its total tally increased to 70,964. Out of the new cases 172 were from quarantine and 890 were local contacts.
The local contacts included 45 cases from Dumduma, 40 each from Khandagiri and Nayapalli, 28 from Chandrasekharpur, 23 each from Jharpada and Baramunda, 19 from Badagada, 16 from Ghatikia, 13 from BJB Nagar and 11 each from Jagamara and Jayadev Vihar. Currently, the active cases in the city stood at 12,795. On the day, three persons succumbed to the disease in the city, increasing the total death toll to 321. However, 996 patients recovered on the day, with which the total recoveries in the city rose to 57, 827.
