The Odisha Youth Congress (YC) on Tuesday demanded an impartial probe into the Archana Nag honey-trapping and extortion case.
The Youth Congress said a huge amount of black money was used after Archana by ruling party MLAs, Ministers and influential officials. This information should come to limelight. Police should impartially investigate this.
A delegation led by Youth Congress State president Smruti Ranjan Lenka submitted a memorandum in this regard addressed to the DGP through the Commissioner of Police.
Lenka said the Archana case has created a sensation across the State. As many bigwigs are involved and the accused has support of the official machinery, it has led to apprehensions that the investigation process might be influenced. Police should thoroughly probe the case and take stringent action against the accused.
Youth Congress members also held a demonstration before the Commisionerate police headquarters holding placards and shouting slogans.
