Plus II students on Thursday staged a demonstration at the Lower PMG here demanding cancellation of their examination in view of the upsurge in coronavirus cases.
The students questioned that if the HSC (Matric) and other examinations are being cancelled, why can’t the Plus II examination.
They said that already much time has been lost and the Government should cancel the Plus II examination so that they can decide on their next course of action. “A lot of students faced problems while taking online classes. Besides, we feel that it will not be safe to appear in the examination offline as there is no improvement in the Covid situation,” said a student.
However, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash advised the students to keep studying till a final decision is taken by the State Government over the conduct of the Plus II examination. According to Dash, if the Covid situation doesn’t permit to hold the examinations, the Government would take an appropriate decision at the right time.
