According to sources, Guru hanged himself using a rope in a pole near his house . Family members found him hanging and rushed to Burla-based VIMSAR. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead.

A case was registered in this connection and the body was sent for postmortem.

'My name is Johan. My brother was studying very hard. But, he was broken after he just secured 49 per cent in Plus Two. So, he took the extreme step. We searched for him when he did not come home on Wednesday night. Later, we found him hanging near our house," said Johan, brother of the deceased.

Police said a probe was on.
