The Utkal Sammilani has demanded that the name of Angul district be written in Odia correctly at all places in the district before the Utkala Divas on April 1.
Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial Estate branch president Dillip Dashsharma said that the Sammilani would formally make a demand in this regard before the Chief Secretary and the Angul district Collector soon. The spelling of the district’s name has been differently in Odia at different places, which is a disrespect to the mother tongue, he maintained.
Dashsharma said he saw the mistakes during his recent visit to the district headquarters town of Angul. Spelling of Angul in Odia was different at the Collectorate, Tehsil and other Government and private places, he said, urging the district administration to ensure that the spelling is rectified at all places before the Utkal Divas on April 1.
