‘Voters should choose honest candidates’

The Odisha Civil Society Forum has expedited its ‘Voter Sankalp Yatra’ to create awareness among people across the State to choose worthy candidates and not accept money and liquor during the election period.

The campaign begun here on Saturday has already covered Ganjam, Khordha and Gajapati districts. It would move to other districts soon.

The activists would convince voters to vote for good character, non-corrupt and educated candidates in their respective constituencies. They would also urge people to ask candidates for total prohibition in their area and put various questions fearlessly to candidates for the interest of their localities.

At a programme held at Brahmapur on March 24, Brahmapur Assemly candidate Abani Kumar Gaya said he would take local people into confidence while taking of developmental projects.

On Thursday, the forum released resolution leaflets for distribution during awareness programmes in different districts.

Leaders of various organisations and eminent persons have been involved in the drive.
