The vaccines alone do not provide 100 percent protection from Covid-19 infection. Wear masks and adhere to pandemic norms, Health Services Director Dr Bijay Mohapatra said on Friday. Mohapatra said, “Vaccination does not provide 100-per cent protection and there is a risk of infection even if one is completely vaccinated. However, surveys have revealed that number of test positivity rate (TPR) is very low. Out of those who are getting infected after inoculation, few patients become serious,” he said. Therefore, people should wear masks and strictly abide by Covid appropriate behaviour, including maintaining social distance and avoid crowding even after getting vaccinated,” he added. “The State is still facing 2nd wave and State Government will take appropriate measures if third wave hits State. Besides, Government has decided to reopen schools and certain guidelines have been chalked out for safety students,” he said.
